Surveys the literature on the language of Nazi Germany and examines in detail, in three language dictionaries of the period (the third is "P.F.L. Hoffmanns Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache"), the entries for the words "Volk", "Rasse", and "Jude", with all their derivatives and related terms (whose numbers burgeoned under Nazism). Traces them through successive editions, showing how they reflect increasingly antisemitic Nazi ideology. Mentions that the Propaganda Ministry, due to considerations of foreign policy, objected to use of the word "Antisemitismus".
