The unfortunate traveller

Nash, Thomas

Authors:	Nash, Thomas
Print type:	BOOK

Description:

This is the story of Jack Wilton, an amoral young recruit in Henry VIII's army in France. Wilton has a series of dangerous adventures and travels throughout Europe. Nashe's descriptions, especially those of violence, are a brilliant and unsettling combination of the ordinary and the extraordinary. The Unfortunate Traveler is perhaps the most brilliant Elizabethan novella. Taken from Boxall's 1001 Books
