Poetry

Kelli Anne Noftle

Authors: Kelli Anne Noftle
Print type: BOOK

Description:

With scientific curiosity and metaphoric surrealism, this innovative collection of poetry grapples with the mysteries of humanity. Exploring the transitional stage between sleep and wakefulness, the lyrical voice hovers in a stage of strange admissions and abstract silences. Verses straddle the boundary between the conscious and the unconscious mind to expose the darker, more intense realities of human sexuality. Woven with playful words and hallucinogenic visions, each piece seeks to compare man’s defense mechanisms and habits with that of the natural world, even a species as foreign as a sea slug. Imbued with a sense of wonder, Noftle’s meditations also explore the elements of the self that even science cannot quantify.
