Description:

"Astrid and her younger sister, Lola, are Basque exiles living in Paris. Both await the release from prison of the convicted ETA terrorist Mikel. Their lives, held in suspense for the twenty years of his incarceration, are about to begin again." "Astrid, a transplant surgeon who has always sought oblivion through work, must now return to the Basque country to face her demons, while Lola, her hedonistic sister, prepares herself for an idyll with her broken hero. On her journey south Astrid meets Kader, an Arab youth on the run. The love that grows between them will help reconcile her to life just before the past catches up with her: for they have all underestimated Txema, their friend and former comrade who has also waited patiently for Mikel's release."--BOOK JACKET.
