Description:

Rubaiyat, originally composed by Omar Khayyam, suggests withdrawal from the sorry scheme of things. Over the centuries it has gained immense fame for its romantic melancholy. First published in March 1859 as an unpretentious and anonymous pamphlet, its true literary worth was later discovered by Rossetti and Swinburne.
